Congratulations to my client a 2nd time! Their first purchase in Vancouver was a presale that actually doesn’t complete until three years from now. Instead of waiting on that unit to finish, they decided it was best to invest in another home that they could move into right away (currently, they are renting).
They didn’t want to be paying somebody else’s mortgage when they could very well afford their own one. What a great plan they have!
The best thing about this Shift project is that the homes are 90% built. They are being sold as they’re being constructed. So by the time this project completes end of this year, my client will be ready to move in —helping them to save on rent while they wait for their other presale to finish.
It’s an excellent use of time! Instead of stashing money in the bank and devaluing what they have due to inflation (trust me, it’s one of the less brilliant ideas when it comes to growing your net worth), they decided to invest in another property in addition to their presale.
Just remember, real estate is the safest investment you can make when you are financially sound and know how to wait!
My client is intelligent and knows it would be extremely difficult to catch up to inflation — especially when our city is growing at such a quick pace. Always remember to buy in early! You can’t lose as long as you have patience and have a solid income stream.
